Hey Fam,
Leandro and Vanessa's story began at Hologic biotech company in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego. Vanessa was a single mom working as a laboratory technician and Leandro was a newly graduated chemist. The couple was on the same team, and friends for about 2 years before they had a romantic spark assisted by some liquid courage (scooby snacks) and karaoke tunes. Leandro and Vanessa have been dating since August 2015. On March 6, 2016 while waiting for the Uber ride to CRSSD festival, Leandro asked Vanessa to be his girlfriend. They moved in together in Mira Mesa in 2018 and then purchased a home in Santee in May 2021. 8 years later and they now live in their home in the beautiful mountains of Mission Trails. They have a little family now with their son Kayden and chipoo Nala.
Leandro proposed to Vanessa at IK Kil Cenote in Cancun, MX on July 7, 2023. He was so nervous to propose but he had no other choice since he didn't leave the ring in the lockers. Our friends V and Janice were there to record the proposal. We were all so emotional, Janice even blacked out a bit hahaha. They are so excited to take the next step in their relationship. It has not been an easy road for the two but together they are capable of anything!
Leandro's How We Got Here Story
"I thought Vanessa was cute when we both started working at Hologic, but nothing came from it for more than two years. We would all hang out in a group with our coworkers, and we were having a great time just being friends. Fast forward to one night (I may have had some alcohol in me) and I went to pull Vanessa in for a dance at a karaoke bar and she couldn’t resist my charms ;D. We started going on dates and few months later I asked her to be my girlfriend before our first music festival together, CRSSD Festival, and the rest is history. Now we own a home, been to a LOT of festivals together, have a beautiful little family, and we’re getting married!"

"I had no idea Leandro liked me. We would always hangout at work! I didn't think his quiet and shy demeanor was because he was inetersted in me. One night on August 2015, all the coworkers went to Carriage House in Convoy for karaoke night. In typical Leandro fashion, he was going to sleep at the bar table. Vanessa and Erika poked him "Get up we're gonna get kicked out." In that moment, Leandro grabbed my finger and pulled me in for a dance. I still remember like it was yesterday. I was elated that such a kind and smart guy was going for me. We hit it off right away, it was magical. I thank God every day for those scooby snacks <3"
